Burrrn 1.14 beta2 and a little something
October 20, 2005 on 4:29 am | In Site related | Post a Comment (32 entries)I have uploaded a new beta of Burrrn that fixes a small bug and adds Croatian translation (thanks to tgotic).
I also wrote a GUI for Moitah’s UnpackCL.exe, so I have added that to the Download section. If you have a standalone DVD player that plays DivX/XviD movies and experience problems with some files (jerkiness), then you might find that useful. I was missing a batch function in Moitah’s tool, so I wrote that little GUI. Enjoy.

Hi Gambit! First of all, thanks for this great program – rarely seen something that’s so straightforward and effective to use: congrats!
However, I have a similar problem as Adagio (http://www.burrrn.net/?p=18): I get the same error message though working on CUE with FLAC). I have tried reinstalling the lastest FLAC version and also tried now with Burrrn 1.14 beta 2, but it still doesn’t work. Any thoughts? Thx.
Comment by gaeao — November 4, 2005 #
As you can see Adagio’s problem was caused by a corrupt decoder. That doesn’t seem to be your case… Could you send me the cue sheet and a small flac file that is causing that problem?
Comment by Gambit — November 4, 2005 #
works great
Comment by Psilo — November 20, 2005 #
Hi! Works great with whole album .ape files for me, but with .flac cue files (for example from Pedro’s BT site) it never works! I always get following error message:
” is not an integer value.
Could you help me out here? I looked and looked, but I cannot find an error in the cue file.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Gambit :)
Two very minor things i found in Burrrn 1.14b2 is :
1. Under the burning process, the output window prints many of the messages twice, like this :
Starting write at speed 32…
Starting write at speed 32…
Turning BURN-Proof on
Turning BURN-Proof on
Writing track 01 (mode AUDIO/AUDIO )…
Writing track 01 (mode AUDIO/AUDIO )…
Flushing cache…
Flushing cache…
Writing finished successfully.
Writing finished successfully.
2. When selecting the little arrow on the “Extras” button, and if you then select “CUEditor”, then nothing happens, But if you press directly on the “Extras” button, then the “Cueditor” do start.
These things aren’t important, and i’m perfectly happy with Burrrn the way it is, but i just thought that i would let you know…

SPTI enabled
Raw driver enabled
CD-TEXT enabled

I’m just an average, ordinary user who loves Burrrn and needs extra information. Could you write some documentation or FAQ please?.
Thanks
Comment by Nayla — January 26, 2006 #
@Nayla
HA.org member Digga has made a preliminary outcast for a Burrrn FAQ here :
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=33359&view=findpost&p=309682
If you have a specific question about Burrrn, then just post it here and then Gambit or others will be happy to help you out :)
Comment by Martin H — January 26, 2006 #
Thank you for the answer Martin. I don´t speak or write english very well, but I can read it easily and the Digga’s FAQ was useful to me (now I understand the difference between trackgain and albumgain, just what I needed).
May I ask a silly question not related to Burrrn? What is “the happy dance”?
It seems to be one of those things that everybody understand except, of course, me, and google didn’t help (I’m trying to imagine how Gambit or anybody else dance it… Should I be scared?)
Cheers and Thanks,
Nayla

Haha, the happy dance… Well, don’t tell anybody, but it looks something like this:

Hi Gambit :)
This isn’t an important thing at all, but i was thinking about if you maybe could make an “Add Folder” button, under the normal “Add” one, and rename the “Add” button to “Add File”, just like in burnatonce. Anyway, as i said, it isn’t important, but just a thought :) Thank you for all the work you have laid down in creating Burrrn, and for releasing it for free to the community, it’s trully appreciated :)

Just a few days ago I started getting the dreaded “Blue Screen” when I try to burn MP3 files. It’s been working great, up till now, for a couple months. I get error message – Error: OE:0028:C0030AEC. I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled Burrrn. When I try to burn FLAC files, it works just fine. Do you have any suggestions, oh by the way, I’m unfortunate enough to still be running on Windows ME.
Thanks,
John Robinson

Unfortunately, I didn’t get an answer on my question (see above: January 20). Could someone please help me out?
Thanks!

Nobody1114: Please send me the cue file, so I can have a look at it.
Comment by Gambit — February 18, 2006 #
@Nobody1114
I have just searched old Burrrn threads on HA.org for reports of that specific error message, and i found one where Gambit said that it was probably a wrong filepath in the cuesheet somewhere, and it turned out to be true. I would therefore suggest that you load the cuesheet up into Burrrn’s CUEditor, and if it says : FILE “Some album.wav” WAVE, then under the “Replace” dialog, you should just change from “.wav -> .mpc” to “.wav -> .flac”, and save the edited cuesheet afterwards. Of course you could also just use notepad, but for example if you had a cuesheet of an album with separate tracks, then the CUEditor is just great(i don’t make or use cuesheet’s myself, but i can see that for people who do, then it’s simply a great feature). If the problem is not about what i have described here, then i don’t know how to help you, sorry.

I Luvvv Burrrn. A lot of my recently burrrned discs were unplayable after about 60 mintes into the disc. I’ve got a feeling I’ve got a bad batch of TDK’s here, but I’d like to try to write at a 4x speed. When I set the Burrrn write speed to 4x, discs are always written at 16x. Is this due to a lmitation of my burner?
Thanks.
P.S. I freaked out the night I heard the Abbey Road medley without breaks when I first tried Burrrn. I didn’t know it was possible from mp3 files. I did my own happy dance.
Comment by Bill — February 18, 2006 #
Martin H: I have changed that error message to be more descriptive. It should now show the name of the file missing, so it’s weird that he still get’s that error now.
Anuway, a look at the CUE show provide us with more info :).
Bill: Do you know if your burner can write at that speed? It probably can’t, so the disc is burned at the lowest possible speed. At least, that should happen. :P And I’m glad Abbey Road works as expected. :)

Once again my apologies for my bad english, for a comment not strictly related to Burrrn and for the delay to thanks Gambit to share with us his HAPPY DANCE (yes: with capital letters)… even I should say that Gambit perhaps wont be easily accepted into The Bolshoi Ballet; but Gambit, as my young sister said, you actually could be a model or an actor (well, she said other, more “warm” significant things, but I don’t know how to translate them… I would agree with her, but unfortunately I’m married). Anyway, I’m sure there will be a lot of girls (and boys?,ehm) whom will have another reason to love Burrn.

Excellent program, really does the job for me!
Just what I needed was a program that both writes in disc-at-once mode without having to fiddle with options like other programs!
Oh, and maybe I missed it somewhere, but I am very curious why I should or should not enable the “raw driver” option, what exactly does it do?
Same goes for “SPTI” by the way.
Thanks a lot for explaining!

Hi Love this program. Habe one problem though – it seems not to recognise when there is not enough room on a CD for the music. It tries to write and succeeds up to the track that is going to be too long then gives and error. But though the cd can be played on my computer normal cd players won’t recognise it. The example one I tried recently said the trackes added up to 67:36 mins so I thought it would fit ok on a 80 min CD-R. Perhaps I am missing something, or perhaps its a bug – thought you might like to know. Thanks for any help you can give on this.
Comment by Emma Sunerton-Burl — April 20, 2006 #
I think it’s the media.
67:36 should fit well on a 80min disc.
Are you using quality media?
Comment by Killjoy — April 20, 2006 #
yes, verbatim… I get the message lame.exe has a problem (a tell microsoft type message…) then when burrn stops – ERROR:
ERROR: Drive does not accept any cue sheet variant – please report.
ERROR:
ERROR: Writing failed.
Comment by Emma Sunerton-Burl — April 20, 2006 #
Try deinstall and reinstall burnnn.
If the problem persists, it could be a faulty or incomplete mp3 you are trying to burrrn :-)
You should try to burn a different album and see if ya still got the problem…

Congrats to your software BURRRN. It just works perfectly on Windows Server 2003 Std. Edition.
When do you release the next Normal not Beta version?
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi, just started using this to make gapless audio cd’s from mp3s, and i must say it works very well! However, i sometimes get a problem, it will get to 100% burned, then displays the line “fill min 96% max 100%” or whatever it is, and then it just sits there, i left it for half an hour the first time! So i have to use the magic combo (ctrl-alt-del) to close it, then i have to open it again, press unlock drive, close it again, and then i can get the disc out. Which as far as i can tell in my cd player, has nevertheless finished burning ok. Any idea what causes the hangup though?
Many thanks
mark
Comment by Mark — June 24, 2006 #
Must be some kind of driver problem. Try to uncheck the SPTI option and see how it works out. However in most cases the SPTI option should work ok.
Gambit, any news on a new version? It still works like a charm, but i was just wondering =)
